When I was pregnant with our second child, I hoped that the baby was another girl. That way, she and Evelyn would be less than 2 years apart in age. Logistically, it helped because I knew they could share a room. But I also hoped that they would be close in relationship as well as age.
So far, that has turned out to be true! The girls just love each other. Evelyn even calls her sister "My AJ" a lot of the time. Recently, Evelyn has really loved having AJ sleep in her room. She is so proud of herself every morning - she tells me how "I was quiet, Mommy!" Because I always tell her before putting her to bed that she has to be quiet and not wake up her sister. We've had AJ in the porta-crib, which doesn't seem like the most comfortable solution long-term. So last night, we moved AJ back into her own room with her own crib.
And then had to move Evelyn's mattress on to the floor right by "her AJ", so that they could sleep together again last night.
So sweet!
We were planning to move the girls into the same room next year, probably after we find out what gender baby #3 is. But I have a feeling we will now be moving them in together pretty soon.
I'm so glad they love each other so much! :)
